Vrbanovec's hayrack is one of the pinnacles of building design and is the representative of the highest quality level of development of this kind of hayrack in Slovenia. A double hayrack was built in 1904, which is witnessed by a carved year on a cross beam. It is composed of six windows, covered with a dual roof with brick cutters. The carpenter's mastery of the hayrack's structure shows carved decoration in the form of sun rays on the front of the hayrack. In other European countries, hayracks have no roofs and are only intended for drying, while Slovenian hayracks have a much wider purpose. Most of them have a roof and are intended for drying of grain, hay, maize, flax, hemp, legumes, siftings of roots, ferns, etc., as well as for storing various tools, machines, boards and cereals. Since 2003 Vrbanovec's double hayrack has been a monument of national importance.
