Artist's Description
December, a cold winter month full of warm holiday memories, would not be complete without a symbolic Poinsettia plant. The Poinsettia’s history stretches back to Aztec times when the plant represented new life and purity, and played an important role in religious ceremonies. The Poinsettia became known as a Christmas flower during the colonial period. Its shape reminded people of the Star of David. In today’s flower language though, red, white or pink poinsettias convey good cheer, loyalty, and respect. They convey joyful wishes and a celebratory spirit to the recipient.

About Dragica Micki Fortuna
"Art and music are to my soul, as food and water are to my body." Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She attended the University of Ljubljana, postgraduate studies from chemical science and graduated from economics. After retirement, attended lectures at the Academy of fine arts and design in Ljubljana, and attended the advanced courses in drawing and painting. In the paintings reflects an optimist by nature and leon by horoscope. She practices drawing by pastel, painting by acryl and mixed technique, she occupy oneself with photography and encaustic paintings. She is currently devoted to her passion for digital art.
