Artist's Description
In the West, the icon of the Mother of God of Tenderness (Virgin of Tenderness), is almost always equated with the icon of the Mother of God of Vladimir (Virgin of Vladimir), the treasure of Russia and one of Russia's most venerated icons. In both cases the faces of Mother and Child are touching affectionately, but in Tenderness the Mother simply accepts the signs of affection demonstrated by the Child, while she is sometimes looking elsewhere.
About Dragica Micki Fortuna
"Art and music are to my soul, as food and water are to my body." Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She attended the University of Ljubljana, postgraduate studies from chemical science and graduated from economics. After retirement, attended lectures at the Academy of fine arts and design in Ljubljana, and attended the advanced courses in drawing and painting. In the paintings reflects an optimist by nature and leon by horoscope. She practices drawing by pastel, painting by acryl and mixed technique, she occupy oneself with photography and encaustic paintings. She is currently devoted to her passion for digital art.
